First Team 1952/53 Season

  I've got most of these chaps - Back row:-   Geoff Parsons, Mr Parker (teacher), Johnny Delacourt, Maurice Dunstall, Les Templeman, Michael Mahon, I think Dave Smith? Front row:- Malcolm Jones, Keith Denyer, Dennis Hill, Dave Winder, Mike Britchfield. The newspaper reports are from the same season. Although we played down the Westside Rec for games lessons I can’t remember ever playing a match at home. Apart from two games reported  in the Sussex Express I can remember playing at Buxted, in a cow field, and missing an absolute sitter by blasting it over the bar from right by the post!  by Mike Britchfield.

I remember playing at Chailey Junior School and down the Eastside recreation ground a couple of times, no showers in those days, unless it rained !
