I remember this well. I used to work with a guy whose father worked there. I think it used to be owned by John Bunce, but I might be wrong. Looking back, it was actually quite an attractive building (certainly compared to what's there now), but I never noticed that at the time!

I worked on the garage when Bannisters Builders did a big makeover. The Bunces were fun people to work for. I remember fixing the leaping horse neon sign onto the roof. I think there were three Bunce sons, one of whom was at school with me a year or so younger though. This boy was a man mountain excelling at the shotput in games.
