WALTER RICHTER

Ashore in 1972

By Derek Longly

There are already a number of fine and dramatic photos on site showing the MV Walter Richter ashore and being battered by high seas.  These ones, however, are of a different aspect to the event in showing how people flocked to see the wreck when the tide was out.

I have taken the liberty to add two previously unpublished photos taken by my mother. That shows the in between stage of its beaching.

Many thanks John for adding the additional photos which are both very good and also have better colour rendition than mine. Derek
