I attended this school from 1961 to 1963. Does anyone remember Miss Hawker the Headmistress and Mrs Franklin who taught reception class? Excellent teachers but frightening. If you spoke out of turn you were made to stand on your chair...the humiliation! Mrs Lavington and Miss Penny ran the nursery class and for a special treat we were read stories about Rufty Tufty. Does anyone have photos of those times? I would love to see them.

Hello Helen; you will remember I too attended the school at the same time as you. Very happy days there. Even the school dinners were edible!

I saw Miss Penny again while working for Royal Mail in the early 1980's, when she drew her pension at the High Street in Lewes.

I was at this school from 1963-5. Does anyone remember Miss York, Miss Swan or Miss Tinsley? I moved from E.Sussex in 1971, but would like to hear from anyone from back then.

Yes, I remember Miss Hawker very well, she was a kind and caring teacher but would not stand for any nonsense. I attended this school in the early 1950's

Hi, does anyone know when the top photo was taken? Richard Easton could be my uncle or his cousin, depending on the year.

I've spoken to the lady who created this page and she tells me that it was around 1946. Andy-Editor

The Richard Easton in the above photo is my Dad's cousin, Dick. He has one daughter, Sharon and they live in Seaford.
