J Parson & Sons was owned by Jack Parsons and his son Ken for 46 years. It ceased trading 19 years ago [1989].
Previously in the 1920's, Jack Parson's father 'Boss' Hedges owned a fruit and veg shop on the north side of Bridge Street called 'Hedges'. It supplied wreathes and crosses, hired motors for private parties and removed furniture.
