PADDLE STEAMER PARIS

Spithead Review 1911

By Terry Howard

Looking at the Railways south east magazine I found on holiday is this picture of the LBSCR paddle steamer Paris seen here at Newhaven, it is believed to have been one of the many railway ships used to convey sightseers to the 1911 Spithead review. She was sold in 1912 and scrapped in 1924,but the next Paris played a prominent part in the 1935 celebrations, according to the article.
