Building work underway.

March 2015. The work on transforming the Marine Shops is well underway, with the roof completed on the small building and the tower crane now in place to start work on the Marine Shops building itself.

Up at the former Saxonholme site, construction is taking place on our new combined police, fire and council buildings. 

Having lain derelict for so long, it will be good to see the completed buildings and we can only hope that they breathe some much needed life into these two areas of the town.

I have recently noticed, that the telephone poles in the town are all sporting pairs of black boxes, and green and black coils of wire. Could this be anything to do with 5G internet? This is possibly one for John!

Hi Ian  Think it is new fibre replacing copper cables, terminating at the distribution point at the top of the telegraph poles, well that the case in our road!
