DOVER AT NEWHAVEN

Relief ferry visits the port

By Stephen Morris

Dover relieving for the Villandry and Valencay in late 1971 and 1972.

Dover was a regular relief ferry from the mid 1960s onwards. The local press described her as 'massive' on her first visit. We'd now consider her to be tiny, such has the ferry world moved on!
