4, High Street is the last shop on your left as you go down the High Street. In the 1960's I used to buy pigeon peas there for my pea shooter.
2, Elphick Road was the first shop on the left as you entered from Lewes Road at it's junction with Lower Place, the row of shops was demolished when the ring road was put in.
