A busy scene. Con-Zelo leaving harbour, no doubt with 'Captain Tom' at the wheel. Meeching, having just towed in the mud barge has stopped and pulled over to starboard to let the barge come up alongside, ready to be taken back to the dredger Testside. One of the 'V twins', having been converted to drive-through operation, is at the ramp. A freighter is at Fishers on the East Quay, and that's Normannia laid up at the Railway quay.

Photo taken somewhere between early 1976 when the first 'V twin' came back from conversion, and late 1978 when Normannia was sold for scrapping.

I think the freighter on the East Quay looks like the F Freiligrath built in 1967 in East Germany.

Great photo, helped to unload her many times on the North Quay in the early 70s.

Good spot, John. I thought it had that Russian/East German look to it. There's another photo of her on site from Derek Longly, possibly taken on the same visit - the year would be spot on:

I've edited the colours on that one, it looked a bit blue! :)
