NEWHAVEN REMEMBERS
Remembrance Sunday 2018
By Andy Gilbert
As always, Newhaven remembered the fallen on Remembrance Sunday. Particularly poignant this year as we marked the 100th anniversary of the Armistice that ended World War I, and with the ceremony being held on the 11th November.
The torrential rain, hail and thunder thankfully cleared through and the ceremony was held in the dry.
All the forces and local cadet forces were represented, with a large presence this year from the Royal Navy, with many Midshipmen and Midshipwomen.
Wreaths were laid by all the forces, cadets, councils, schools and many local organisations.
A moving occasion, as always. Lest we forget.
For more photos of the ceremony, the We Love Newhaven Pictures group has a page of photos by Jacky Main from the Town Council.
