Our Newhaven at the 2016 Lifeboat Fete

Our Newhaven's Carol Walton and Andy Gilbert took the website 'on the road' for the first time in a couple of years to attend the annual Newhaven Lifeboat Fete on the 2nd July 2016.

As well as photos and laminates, the Our Newhaven stall was also able to display Andy Gilbert's book on the life history of the tug Meeching and the wonderful scale model of the tug, built by local model maker Fred Davies. There was also a continuous Powerpoint slide show created especially for the event, showing just a few of of the thousands of images on the Our Newhaven website.

Although the rain held off, the gusty wind was 'fun' to contend with and the Our Newhaven gazebo did try to become a kite until firmly anchored down!

As always, the town came out to support its Lifeboat and the event was well attended, It was nice to speak to so many of you. We hope to attend a few more events in the town, such as the Fete de Newhaven and the Fish Festival, so do watch out for the blue gazebo, pop in and say hello!
