The Artistry of Dorothy Valenti

At our recent scanning event at Newhaven Library, we were delighted to be visited by local artist Dorothy Valenti, who very kindly allowed us to photograph some of her work for inclusion on the website. This is is the first of several pages we will publish featuring her work.

Dorothy Valenti moved to Newhaven in 1964, and started to paint soon afterwards, when her children were small. She has a long history of exhibitions and has been Chair of the Newhaven Art Club. She always paints from life and has always enjoyed painting Newhaven Harbour and the River Ouse.
