Love that first photo. Looks like four blokes playing football on the beach with rolled up jackets for goal posts. How little some things change!

I used to go fishing off the east pier just after the war and there was the wreck of a ship laying next to the pier on the east side. Has anyone any idea what this ship was ?

Dear Mrs Walton, What fabulous photos, I have a question you may be able to help me with. Is the East Pier as standing, the structure we can see in your images above? If so do you know if there are any drawings of the structure in existence.
