Teaching Young People to Swim at West Beach

Ted Byrne was my husband's grandfather; he was a very keen swimmer and believed that all children who lived near the sea should be able to swim. He was at some time connected with Newhaven Town Council but I am not sure in what capacity. Does anybody remember Ted?

Hi Carol, This photo is of Ted pictured at middle back row my Mum is far right, not certain which is Elsie and I think lady 2nd right is Terry's Gran.
