The last resort

This postcard depicts what the planners had decided the building would look like. Comparing this with what was actually built, it can be seen that the final building was somewhat different to the proposals. Thankfully in 2007 the decision was made to renovate the structure rather than demolish and "build modern". So at last somebody had the foresight to retain at least some of the historical buildings in the Town.
