RAF air sea rescue launch 2688 returning to berth in early 1960's ?
No. 2688 returning to its berth
Hills private collection
My father served on this boat in WWII and I wondered if you have any historical information about it, particularly the time it was involved with D day. I believe this vessels captain was named Storey, and the boat could have operated in Portrush - Ireland and Stranraer - Scotland.
You could always make contact with the Newhaven Museum - or pay them a visit! They have a lot of information of the RAF and its boats at Newhaven.

I have just checked the harbour logs for 1939-45 and 2688 didn't visit Newhaven then. Pete
You might find this site useful, it seems a bit temperamental-sometimes opens sometimes not. A lot of photos of boats & crews http://www.asrmcs-club.com/welcome.htm
THe RAF Museum at Hendon has the Movement Record Cards Form F78 for all vessels which should tell you the units that 2688 was allocated to. The website above will show the locations of the units. No idea of the cost though. Pete
