Launch Party - International Women's Day 8 March 2009
A week of events highlighting the achievements of women were held across Lewes District Council. The launch party at Newhaven Fort turned out to be very successful, with a lecture about the Women's Land Army by Amy De La Haye. Mayors and Mayoresses turned out to support the event, for which we are very grateful, and the Chairman of Lewes District Council Carla Butler hosted the event. Most exciting, apart from seeing all the Women's Land Army who came to join us at the event, was the attendance by Marguerite Patten OBE who can be seen seated in the front row dressed in blue.
