Last friday afternoon a victory tea was held at the Oriel Cafe, Denton Corner for all the children of Mount Pleasant.

Sports which lasted several hours were much enjoyed

The party ended with a firework display, and on leaving each child recieved a lead pencil, a bag of sweets and a threepenny piece.

The party was organised by Mrs G. Castle, Mrs A. Motyer, Mrs R. Hooker. and Mrs F. Cole.

All sports and entertainment were in the charge of Miss G. P. Castle and the fireworks were the gift of Mr A. Motyer.

Nearly all the persons residing on The Mount gave gifts of food, money and prizes, including Mrs A. B Cole, late of Mount Pleasant.
