2009 - Relief Lifeboat

The following photographs show the replacement Newhaven Lifeboat on a special display, these pictures were taken on the 5th July 2009 in Seaford Bay. The David and Elizabeth Ackland 17 - 21 is currently undergoing an internal refit of new instruments and computer devices.

Great photos, brought back memories of a similiar exercise we conducted back in 1981 with the Waveney "Louis Marchesi of Roundtable" and the relief slipway lifeboat "Tynesider", when we had two casualties in the form of BBC Radio presenter Rick Skinner and 'pop' star Gary Numan whom we rescued from the Tynesider. All was later broadcast on the BBC. Photos of this day are at the lifeboathouse, would be great to see them on this website.
