I remember going to this event with my girlfriend who is now my wife. We also went to another one starring Sean Connery and Alfred Lynch, on stage was Bill Owen or "Compo" as we now know him doing a stand up comedy routine.
SNAP I was also there that night with my girlfriend Mary, and we are also still together as a married couple ! Must have been something in air that evening.
Do you remember Bill Owen singing " Mack the Knife " the Bobby Darin hit of 1959 that evening David ?
