I've never been a football fan, but it was great to see some "old" faces from the past. Thanks for posting these Paul and keep them coming, happy days!

Nice group photo of many cadets outside old Bridge Street, RNR Sussex, battery unit entrance. It would be nice to have a date for this picture, as there are many familiar faces shown. There are a few cadets wearing webbing belts so presumably they may have been involved in guard duty drill as one cadet appears to be shouldering a rifle. (These were 303, lee enfield rifles maintained in a secure racking to rear of main twin 4" gun housing area).

Happy days right enough. Remember all the boys in the team. All good players especially Paul Harrison who I remember as a cracking full back.

Nice one Stuart, I forgot about the shooting stick, that brings back some great moments, also I remember playing in many 5 a-side comps as well. John rounded up all the good players at the time to join the cadets to strengthen the football team, not only did we enjoy the football but I had great fun being a cadet and I can thank John for that experience.

The approx date of the photo is November 1967/1968, we had just got back from the rememberance service at the memorial in Chapel Street. And hi to you all, Stuart Forbes, Paul Baitup I remember you well and a lot of faces in the photo.

I think I took most of these photos. Thank you for your kind comments Paul.

Stuart Forbes...Yes, Harry was a cracking fullback. You were not too shabby yourself. I was in one of the SC teams, so they weren't all good players...John Owen was a good junior coach, its true.

Re the group photo outside the main doors. There are poppies tucked inside the cap tally of some of the cadets, so I guess this may have been just before or after a Remembrance Sunday parade.

If it's from the same era as the football team photos, then I guess that it's early 1970s, as Chris Doyle and I were there at that time.
