Submerged Ford Popular

By Charlie Verrall

I spotted this Ford Popular in the lakes during May 1971.  How and why it came to be there I do not know, but it appears not to have an engine.

This all looks a bit sinister and ghostly, if you go down to the lakes now you will probably find some submerged shopping trolleys.

As per the last comments, this looks a bit spooky like 'Truck Lagoon', where lots of WW2 hardware was submerged!

Spent most of my youth at these lakes, the old river and the lake where Paradise Park is now.

I remember seeing that car when my parents took me down there, when I was about 9 or 10, 1970'ish, the back end of it was sticking out of the water then.
