This photo was taken in about 1939 and shows my grandad Ted Naylor and his brother Bill opposite the Engineer (outside Cowleys the bakers), looking a bit worse for wear.

My aunt and uncle Joan and Vernon Cowley owned Cowley's bakery and bakehouse for many years, i also worked there in the early 70's Nice memories

Hi, in the late 50's early 60's a man called Norman ? was a delivery roundsman for Cowley's.  You could buy a massive bag of cakes for a shilling in them days. A very good bakery.

Ted Naylor, was my godfather, my gran and mum lived on Eastbridge Road, used to get hot cobs from the local bakers early in the morning.
