Annual Lewes to Newhaven Raft Race

The annual Lewes to Newhaven Raft Race has been taking place during July or August for over 30 years. The race is organised by the Round Table as a charity fund raiser, and has over the years raised over half a million pounds for local charities.
The rafts, built and raced by local businesses and organisations, start off from Lewes Rowing Club and finish at Newhaven harbour where they are bombarded with water and flour bombs from people watching from the bridge.
