SOUTHERN HARBOUR FROM GENEVA ROAD
Sleeper's Hole
By John Sweatman
Looking down over sleeper's hole from Geneva road. This was around 1963, and from the look of it, fairly soon after work had started on turning the wartime slipway area into a marina. The passenger ferries are, I think, the "Brighton" & the "Falaise" but someone else may know better. There is a merchant ship on the souther Gridiron, and south of that can be seen one of the old RNVR boathouses. There was another on Denton Island.
