A couple of pictures of Newhaven Carnival about 1950. The first photo is of the High Street and the second is South Road, with Carters shop just creeping in on the corner.

If you look at the film showing at the Rex Cinema, it's "Treasure of the Sierra Madre" starring Humphrey Bogart. The film was made in 1948, so the photo must be from around then. Andy-Editor.
