NEWHAVEN WATCHHOUSE

Pictured in 1972

By Charlie Verrall

These two photographs were taken early in 1972 when I used to taken my youngest son down the West Quay in his pushchair.

Very atmospheric photos, and nice to see the old steam tug Chrianie, perhaps on the small hard for a little maintenance? Andy-Editor

I used to get taken down here on a 'walk' after Sunday supper and would jump up and grab a steam pipe on the outside of the building, and burn my hand without fail everytime. You'd think I would learn.

I too was regularly taken on these 'harbour walks' - I have a photo of me here at home somewhere, taken outside the Watch House when I was very young . If I can find it, I'll add it to the page. - Andy, Editor.
