Yes Brian it looks like the Conservative Club, in the picture second right, is my late mum, Maisie Lipscombe and middle row third from left, is my late uncle, Low Flowers and next to him my late brother Tony Lipscombe. They all were regulars at the Club and enjoyed some good times there. It's the first time Iv'e seen this picture and sorry I can't recognise any of the others !!

What a very special lady Maisie Lipscombe was. She was a big part of the history of Newhaven, along with her many brothers (the Flowers family). She had many a tale to tell of her time growing up in Newhaven & Sydney Cottage, then going on to do a gruelling days work in the sheet loft & coming back home to raise her 5 children - one of whom had downs syndrome (Tony). Happy times!
