PARKEN PEN - 1955

JEAN SOUTH NEE NAYLOR - Memories
By Jean South

I left school at Fifteen and my first job was at the famous Parker Pen Factory, The first picture is a scene just inside the "Feed" department, making the parts to go under the nib which feeds the ink to the nib for writing, hence the name. In the background were the rotating buffs for polishing different parts of pens, we were rewarded with a bonus of money depending on how fast we could turn out each amount of job lots.

I believe Tom Winton was in charge of us during this time.
