This month’s picture is from Colin Holden’s collection taken in August 1960 at the opening of Newhaven Boys Club fete by singer Frankie Vaughan.

The event was in Grays Field in Western Road. Frankie Vaughan is shown centre and left of him is Horace Horsecraft, a well known Newhaven man. If you have any memories of the fete, stories of the Boys Club or of knowing Horace, Our Newhaven would love to here from you.
