TOUR OF BRITAIN & TORCHLIGHT PROCESSION

Amongst the very last photos I took in Newhaven before leaving to set up my new home in Co Durham were of the Tour of Britain cycle race when it passed through the town and of a torchlight procession held prior to the 5th November celebrations held in Lewes. The pictures date from 1999.

The location of the shots is on the original Lewes Road where I had taken up position from my then home in Willow Walk and which spot gave an excellent vantage point to obtain these views.
