Progress is a good thing but I still find it sad that the old boathouse could not have been preserved in some way. I spent many an hour scrubbing and cleaning that slipway with a bucket of lime and and long handled brush.

I agree. Alas, it was the alterations made to the lifeboat house to accomodate the later motor lifeboats that prevented it from being listed and therefore saved. Andy - Editor.
