This must have been around 1950, in the Westside Recreation Ground, probably on August Bank Holiday Monday, put on I think, by the Royal Naval Association. My father Ron Britchfield was "Clerk of the Court" (seated in top hat) and can be seen to the left of and below Mr Lapierre in the top picture. There are faces in the crowd that I recognise but can't put a name to.
