Popularly known as 'Queenie's' around these parts, after the lady postmistress herself. A very useful little shop, and we were all sad to see it close. My nearest Post Office then became Denton Corner and now that's gone too.

I used to go in there to get a loaf of bread, we used to scoop out the middle and use it for bait for fishing then eat the crust. It was handy as I lived in Wellington Road, Denton and it was on the way to the three lakes at South Heighton, and also had some friends who lived in Brands Close, which is next to the shop.
