THE WINDER FAMILY

My great grandfather was Daniel Wood and in the 1890's he was in the army and stationed at Newhaven Fort.  He married a local lady called Annie Winder and my grandfather was born at the fort in 1899. I wonder if there are any members of the Winder family still living in the area ?

I have an old photo of a gentleman in army uniform and the uniform is pre WW1. I assume this is Daniel Wood and there is a lady in the picture who I assume is Annie Winder. In about 1903 I think Daniel was dischgarged from the army and the family moved to the Hounslow \ Isleworth area of west London. Daniel worked as a tram conductor but sadly passed away in 1915 when only in his 40's. Annie continued to live in the area until her death in the 1950's
