OLD CO-OP STORE

August 2014's picture shows the old Co-op Department Store in its heyday. Many people will remember their ‘divi’ number and the money canisters on pulleys which made their way round the store to the office where the money was taken. If you know when the Co-op was first built, or when the second storey was demolished and the clock moved, OurNewhaven would be very interested to know. So sad to see such a lovely old building disappear.
