PARADISE PARK CONSTRUCTION
Starting with some sheds in a field - 1989!
By Andy Gilbert
At our recent 10th anniversary event, Mark Gilbert, Sales Director of Paradise Park, kindly loaned us a collection of photos showing the construction of the garden centre, originally known as Tates Garden Paradise, in the late 1980s.
Although I've put some of the very early photos at the start of the photo layout (with not much more than some sheds in a field back then) it's not possible to put the rest into exact chronological order.
Do have a look through them all and you'll see photos of things like the digging out of the large ornamental ponds, the laying down of the track for the miniature railway, the outfitting of the cafe and the building of the large flower beds for outdoor plant sales. How many of the features that we take for granted now at Paradise Park can you see being built?
