When was this?

By John Hills

Five photos of the time when the river burst its banks, not sure of the exact dates perhaps you can help?

I have a photo of the bowls green taken on the 2nd February 1983.

This one could have been taken the same day.

The monochrome pics must be from the early sixties going by the vehicles.

Looking at the one with the fire engine, behind the Hillman(?) is the Austin A35 van used by Newhaven Police. I can definitely remember this around the town in the mid 1960s.

The fire engine appears to have a 'D' suffix registration; if so the date of the photo is 1966 or later.
