23/11/1940 Damage due to collision with the trawler "Avanturine". One crew member lost overboard.
My dad Stanley Winter was struck by the mast which smashed his jaw and teeth which required stitches to the inside of his mouth.
He also sustained injuries to his back and was off work for some time.
My father received a bronze medal, along with others in the crew.
Unfortunately, this was the night they lost Signalman Clark.
His widow received the Silver Medal.
