House Bard-y - A wheat sculpture of William Shakespeare's birth place has been unveiled in Newhaven

Info taken from Newspaper cutting (Leader):

The manufacturers of Shredded Wheat donated the artwork to the town after it was used as part of a London exhibition.

Newhaven in Bloom applied for the unusual sculpture after it was no longer needed and it is hoped it will act as a tourist attraction.

The house, which depicts the Bard's birthplace in Henley Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, now stands proudly by the river on Denton Island and can be seen from the swing bridge and the main road around the town.

Newhaven in Bloom chairman Robert Robinson said: "We are thrilled to have this unique wheat sculpture. As soon as we started to put it up it aroused the interest of passers-by"
