BUILDING IN RAILWAY ROAD

What was it?

I'm sure many of us will have driven or walked past this building in Railway Road over the years. Judging by the 'demolition' sign, it looks like it will soon be gone.

I'll guess that it had something to do with the railway but does anyone know its original purpose?

Something in the back of my mind is telling me that this old building may have been the brass foundry that produced valves and taps in the 50's. Surely, some of the old " Turkey Town " folk would remember.
