Taken from the North Quay showing the Swing Bridge,and to the right the public toilets, and behind the toilets the white building was then the New Brige Inn later to become C & E Sports.

The back entrance for the Coop grocery and butchers shop. The bridge to the right was the replacement for the toll bridge, built when the cutting and the North Quay were constucted, creating Denton Island.

This store was demolished in the 1950s I remember back then that it was trading as Wharnes Stores, the road that it was in then was known as Riverside.
