Carnival Society outing to Wannock Gardens, Polegate - 1957
I recognise Fred Cole (well known Meeching Junior school teacher) in the back row. I believe Nancy Saunders (who lived in Avis Road) is four to the right of him. Fred's mother Doris (an Amy whose two brothers owned the garage in the High St) is four in from the left in the second back row. Fred's wife Edna is the lady in black in the middle of the front row and her sister Pat (Lower nee Eacott) is the next lady on Edna's right. Pat is still alive and lives in Newhaven.
Also in the picture, Mrs Baker mother of Robert & Linda (in the photo). Alan Funnell, John Welfare, Mrs Nunn with Michael and Terry.
I am sitting in the front row immediately in front of Edna Cole, who was later to become my Guide leader. On my right is Gina Lee (nee Nunn) who was to become my sister-in-law. I married her brother Terry, he is the blonde boy in the third row. Next to him is his brother Michael and next to Gina is Chris Nunn I think. On the end of the second row next to Mrs Nunn, who is holding Dianne, is Sally Taylor, who lived in South Road.
Val Nunn (nee Evans)
Just seen this and I can add a couple of names - my mother Dorothy Hill (nee Carr) is in the middle of the front of the second row and Hilda Baker is at the right hand side of that row. I am on the left of the front row. I was just 5 years old.
