SKIFFLE BAND SOUTH HEIGHTON

August 1957
By Sis Parsons

A Skiffle Band formed in the late 1950's would practise in the Hampden Arms public house in South Heighton on sundays.  Ken Parsons would beat the tea chest, Jack Ives  played the piano and piano accordian, Wendy Willard  played washboard, Albert Mockford the guitar and Derek Stripp was the vocalist.  Does anyone remember them?

Very interesting to see these photographs.  Jack Ives was my Father.

My dad was Jack Holmes who ran the Holiday Home at South Heighton with Bridget my mother. He was a friend of Jack Ives for a very long time, and Jack played at my wedding reception in 1971.
