Nice to see the Radio Caroline float in the fourth picture. Those were the days!

Any other Caroline fans out there?

I like the sportscar with the unusual "hardtop" on it in the first picture, and it looks like the brown vehicle immediately behind it might be an small caravanette with a lifting roof. And is that by any chance an old musical hurdy-gurdy covered in balloons near the ice cream van?

I am the one dressed as the rabbit. My brother Nigel was not very happy to be dressed as the doormouse and my sister Sue was the Mad Hatter.  Her friend Jane was the Jack of Hearts, cousin Annette was Alice & another friend Sue was the cat.  I'd say it was  1961 or 1962 as I know my brother was only 3 or 4 at the time.

We were quite miffed to only come second.

Re: The date...
If it's any help, Radio Caroline, depicted by the float in the fourth picture, first appeared at on Easter Sunday, 1964.

That's me in the fifth photo behind the lady in blue dress near centre. I am wearing a brown cowboy hat. I went as the Milky Bar Kid with Milky Bar wrappers sewn onto my cowboy outfit. I got 2nd prize in my age group and got a 10 shilling book token.

Would it be possible to use one of these lovely images to promote the town procession next Monday that starts of the Newhaven Festival of Belonging please?
