A few photos from the family collection showing Dad’s time in the AFS.
A couple of posed photos in uniform and one of him standing by the Fire Engine. The other two are of him receiving the Royal Humane Society’s Bronze medal, awarded for rescuing a drowning soldier from the river at the North Quay in 1941.
We also have a copy of the photo of the AFS crew posing by the Fire Car, but ours isn’t signed like the one already posted.
