This month’s picture is of the builders who helped to build the East Side Social Centre.
The Centre was built by local ‘Turkeytowners’ and friends in the early 1950’s. The roof came from a former army hut in South Heighton, which rather determined the building’s size. Go to the OurNewhaven website to find out the names of some of these people.
