Where was the football ground in Denton then? We moved to the village at about the time of this image but I don’t remember a pitch.
I was an apprentice carpenter under Keith Godfrey, he taught me nearly everything I know or knew about carpentry. He was always telling us about his time on national service in Africa. He had a brother Brian who worked on the firm as a painter. He taught me to paint which has come in handy. John Avis was a lad I knew in Denton, he always was a good footballer.
