One of the earliest photos of a Newhaven Football team the club being formed in the December of 1889 originally to be called Newhaven Football Club but when the team entered the East Sussex Football league in 1899 they went under the name of Newhaven and Cement Works, but after a successful season in 1905-06 the team had reverted back to the original name of Newhaven F. C. Have you a photo of the team before 1897?
The cup with players could be the Lewes & District League winners trophy.
This photo is in the private collection of Maureen Morgan who has kindly allowed us to scan it and publish on the website.
